About Sara Simms

Sara Simms embodies the definition of dance floor diva; she’s got the tracks to rip up the club, and the energy to move the crowd. This girl’s no stranger to the turntables, yet she’s a fresh face in the scene.  She loves to surprise her audience and take them on a musical journey through sound.  In her sets, you’ll hear minimal techno tracks sliding up against bumping electro house.  This spring Sara will be re-locating to Berlin to pursue her career in Europe's phenomenal music scene. 

Her background as a trained musician inspired her to use harmonic mixing to create seamless melodic blends. This technique allows her to blend together different styles, and flawlessly layer samples and acapellas into her mixes. She has been using Mixed in Key to analyze her music library for over a year.

In a few short months, Sara has risen up quickly in the Toronto scene.  She has held residencies and spun at many of the city’s top venues, including Lobby, Riva, Modo, Cheval and Flight 55.  She has also played exclusive in-store performances at clothing stores, including Puma.  Sara has already begun to travel to out of town gigs, and has been featured at Winston’s in Montreal.  Sara has recently become affiliated with Thoughtless Music; a digital label run by Noah Pred and Evan Marc which focuses on minimalistic tech-house grooves with plenty of dancefloor appeal. She became a Thoughtless DJ in early 2008, and she is looking forward to future collaborations. When she’s not up in the clubs, Sara spends her time working on tracks in the studio.

An up and coming producer, Sara has plans to release many tracks in the coming months.  You'll be hearing more music from this girl in 2008!
